Submit an application to help host an Earth Day event at Oakwood Community Center this Spring.
To be selected you must:
-
be between the ages of 14-18
-
live in Troy, NY
-
want to participate fully in at least three in-person planning meetings (some weekday evenings, at least one weekend)
-
be available on the day of the event, May 14th
-
be curious about the physical environment - the trees, animals, water and other life forms that co-exist in the city
-
are excited for a chance to be on a team with like-minded teens who care about the earth
Once accepted you will:
-
learn about the wildlife, waterways and urban forests in the city
-
understand how people interact with these parts of the the city
-
spend some time in the woods right around us
-
host an Earth Day event May 14th or 15th at Oakwood Community Center for the neighborhood
-
participate in a Hudson Mohawk Magazine radio workshop led by The Sanctuary for Independent Media, and be featured on the radio!

gain leadership skills that include team work, decision making and environmental education
-
great resume building and earn a $300 stipend for your time!
